Yesterday I finally found myself with a camera. I also found myself with face flat on the cold grass. The sun was starting to set, and it felt a little appropriate to just lay on the level of the grass. The days, weeks, and months have been rollings by. Exciting opportunities, challenges, and everything else in between has been coming so fast since August. That small moment to humble myself with the grass showed me that it at least makes a much better view when looking up to the sun.
Ah, one of my favorite Gingerberry photos in a long time. Don’t get me wrong, I love my past ones: zombies, dance, flowers, other boring still life…but really I think this one photo captures my whole purpose in photography: freezing the beauty in small moments and recreating it.
As simple as this photo may seem, I’m really happy about the way it captured the magnanimity of a sunset onto a small puddle of water on a blue tabletop. And also turning that simple beauty of water and light; creating a completely new type of “sunset”.
